Homestead Happenings
After Church we had some new friends over for a wienie roast and s'mores. They have a large family as well and it was nice to sit and get to know them better. The children sat down for a major game of Uno.
This week has been a little chilly so we began covering some of the windows for the winter. I hate feeling closed in, but that's one of the flaws of living in this old house. I really cant wait for a home of my own.
What We Are Learning About
The children have been working diligently on finishing up a few merit badges. Insects and Gardening. We hope to have them complete by next week. I purchased some new math and phonics workbooks at the Dollar Tree for the littles. Olivia is working on single digit addition and once she realized how easy it was she was even more excited.

Wednesday the boys had Scouts, we hit the library twice this week. We didn't get out to do much else. It was an off week. I had some very slow scheduling at work and Joe was filling out applications for a part time evening job. I think next week we may head out to the State Park for a little hike.

Smores and a wiener roast on a chilly night is always fun:)
ReplyDeleteI agree with the above comment. Sounds like a lot of fun. I saw outdoor firepits today and thought it would be great fun this fall. We'll see. Perhaps we can build ourselves a nice pit off the deck.
ReplyDeleteI still wish we could have gotten together while there. I was a bit disappointed. Oh well. Maybe next time.
Wow! Abigail is talented - Uno AND reading! ::laugh:: We're going to roast hot dogs sometime this week too.
