The Homestead Journal ~ Week 5~ Scout School

What We Are Learning
The boys have been working on scout stuff. I was inspired by a blog I read once about "Scout School". I have since incorporated this into our schedule. Abigail is
Ezra is learning his colors and is doing quite well. And his vocabulary has exploded.
Next week formal lessons resume. 2hrs a day for Isaac, Abigail and Quinten and 3 hours for Jacob. This is in addition to their personal study. Abigail is inspired to do a horse studies binder like her friend did. This will incorporate art, biology, reading and writing.

Our Adventures
Our adventure this week is a broke down van. We did have some friends over on Friday. I groomed their dog. Beautiful Standard Poodle.

What's New In Our Life
Going through our storage and purging. I already have 6 totes packed for donation and more to go. I already feel more organized!

We got a stove! So Quinten and Zachary made some fresh bread!

What We Are Reading

Isaac turned 8 and Olivia turned 5. Lucas has a second tooth! And he is "crawling". he gets up on hands and knees but doesn't move, but can pull himself all over. He is also trying to "stand" He hold himself up on his hands and feet. He is also sitting up on his own, and feeding him self small bits of food at times.

Scripture to Share
Dearly beloved, avenge not yourselves, but rather give place unto wrath: for it is written, Vengeance is mine; I will repay, saith the Lord.   Therefore if thine enemy hunger, feed him; if he thirst, give him drink: for in so doing thou shalt heap coals of fire on his head.  Be not overcome of evil, but overcome evil with good.
Romans 12:19-21

  1. Wonderful update! I can't believe that little guy is already sporting two teeth. It goes by so quickly. I like the picture taken from your front porch.
