Homestead Happenings
Sunday was a beautiful day. The children had our annual Primary Program where they recite lines from their primary lessons and sing songs they learned over the past year. After church the little's had a picnic out in the yard. They didn't see me sneak up as Olivia was feeding Lucas and Ezra. He saw me first and Lucas had to see what he was laughing at. I love their expressions.
Saturday, Joe and the boys went to pick up wood. They are getting use to splitting it. Its a lot harder than it looks, but they had fun doing it.
Our Adventures
We celebrated our 3rd annual Thanksgiving at the Perez's.
We had a wonderful visit with friends, the food was yummy! April made the best rolls from scratch, using a Pinterest recipe. The turkey came out delicious. The bacon was the key! The children had a blast.....until they started to get sick. I suppose what we thought was just an upset stomach turned out to be a virus. Poor Jacob never got any Thanksgiving dinner, although he did manage a piece of pumpkin cheesecake Thursday night. Everyone was well enough to travel Friday morning, me being the last one to get sick and I think I got the worst of it. By the end of it all, everyone in our family got sick, except Daddy who has a stomach of steel apparently. I slept all day Friday and most of Friday night. As of this posting our friends are still in good health. I pray that it stays that way! We want to be able to have the 4th annual Thanksgiving at the Perez's!!
I am so grateful for the little blessings in my life. I am grateful to have a home for my family. I am grateful for a vehicle to carry them around in. I am thankful for the food we have to feed them. I am thankful for good health and the ability to work. I am thankful for the job that I have. I am thankful for friends and for those who have been supportive of my family. I am thankful for the generosity of others who have donated time, supplies and money to my family. I am thankful for my beautiful children The Lord has blessed me with. I am thankful for my husband, and the 18 years we have shared together. I am thankful for the framework of a free society and for people who continue to fight to protect it. Above all I am thankful for my Heavenly Father and his son, my savior and redeemer Jesus Christ.

I started a new grooming job this week. It's a high volume shop and the employees are very easy to work with. This is very different for me, mostly because for 17 years I was either commission or self employed. I am now an hourly employee. This in contrary to my personality, but I am adaptable, so it will work out. The hardest part is being away from my family for more hours per day. When I came home on Tuesday, Olivia says "I miss you mommy".

I am so glad that you all came! It was so nice to be able to sit and talk with you. So far the baby and Gabi are the only ones who have gotten sick. We are staying home from church today to be on the safe side, but everyone else seems fine. I hope that we can get together again next year! Love you!!

I did the homeschooling a family post last week. I will do more this week or next, depending on my schedule. I will focus on the older ones
DeleteI thought I posted a photo of the rolls, April do you have the link to the recipe? I did the turkey, per hubby. It does take most of the flavor from the bacon but its still yummy.
