The Homestead Journal ~ Week 11~ Picnic and Breakfast with Friends

What's New in Our Life

Well maybe not all that exciting but I got a "new to me" skirt, I LOVE it. I also got a neat little rack for my pots and pans. Quinten make it for me. When we paint the kitchen, this will be painted as well. (after photo pending recharged batteries)

Homeschool Happenings
We finished up the first 5 episodes of  Secrets of Archaeology. For Scout School the boys are working on the Archaeology Merit Badge. Isaac has been eagerly working on his Wolf Badge. .

We didn't get any science projects done this week. A mild stomach bug ran through the house so we spent most of the week reading and doing text book work.

                                                     Our Adventures
On Sunday's we go to church. We were unable to go the whole month on January, so it was good to be back. We went last Sunday to our "adopted" Ward, and this past Sunday we went to our local branch. It was an exciting day. The Branch became a Ward! There were many members from the Stake and there was a wonderful pot luck after. It was good to see some old friends we 'seen in a while. Monday we had some friends over for breakfast. <---- Lucas and his friend. He is not being a very good friend.. I love his  look tho..He is not sure if he should take the book or give it back.
Tuesday we hit the library. The children had a great time with their little Valentines Day party, but we didn't get much actual library time. Lucas had an "explosion" and wouldn't ya know it.. I didn't have any extra diapers! The librarian had an extra in the lost and found bucket, but by then I already had everyone loading up in the van.

Wednesday the 4 older ones went to scouts and spent the afternoon at a friends house. Abigail missed her activity when the belly bug hit, but she was just happy she got to ride the horses before hand. Saturday we had a picnic lunch at the park while daddy worked a half day. Jacob found a fishing line with a hook and tried some fishing with no luck, the little's made their own fishing poles. We met up with some friends and then headed off to run a few errands then home.

  4. Sorry to hear about the stomach bug and I do hope you are all doing better now. The pictures are great...especially the one of the oldest on the tree. Great shot! A handsome young man he is becoming. And the picture of Lucas with his friend is so cute. What did he end up doing?
